The Stadhuis or City Hall at Leuven in Flemish Brabant, Flanders, Belgium, was built between 1448 and 1469 in the Grote Markt or Market Square and is a masterpiece of richly-carved Brabantine Flamboyant or Late Gothic architecture. The gables that close its steep-pitched roof are flanked by octagonal turrets topped with sculpted balconies and crocketed pinnacles, and the turrets are ringed by 19th century statues standing on columns under elaborate carved canopies.
