The photo is taken during rainy season right after rains, and it can be seen that even rain could not wet the plants. The reason behind this is that the leaves of this plant like many other plants in rain forests are waxy, which doesn't let water stand on it, and in this way the process of photosynthesis doesn't get hampered. Not being wet it also saves itself from a number of insecticides, which feeds on moist leaves. The water droplet soon after falling on it attains the spherical shape due to surface tension and eventually rolls out from tip of the leaf.
