A German lady's necessaire,middle of the 18th century. Fire-gilded brass. Belt clasp with a hinged two-piece obverse side,and a large necessaire suspended from it with its complete contents consisting of two bone needles and two brass tools with bone handles. Two small containers hanging from the sides,with one containing a small,turned bone,bobbin. Richly decorated,engraved,and chiselled surfaces with figures in half relief amid rocaille ornamentation.
