Rabbits are clever enough to providethemselves with a back door to theirburrows, so that they can escape by thatway when danger knocks at the frontentrance. And in this respect animalsshow themselves to be more intelligentthan birds (I should say, perhaps,mammals, not animals, because youshould plainly understand that a bird isan animal quite as much as a dog or anyother creature); for you will not find aback door to any birds
