Cotopaxi is situated just 60-kilometres from the country’s capital, Quito, the national park is the second largest in Ecuador (after the Galápagos Islands). The national park is also home to various other animals including bears, wolves, foxes, a rare hummingbird that has adapted to live at higher altitudes and the Andean condor – Ecuador's national symbol.
