. Eastern states endangered plants . Tennessee Purple Coneflower Echinacea tennesseensis Description: A perennial herb, 10-40 cm (4-16 inches) tall with up to four unbranched stems. Narrow leaves are crowded at the base of the stem becoming more distant upwards. Flowers are pink to purplish-pink appearing in mid-June to September. Range: Found only in north central Tennessee in Davidson, Rutherford and Wilson Counties. Part of the Wilson County population is located in Lebanon State Forest. Habitat Grows in shallow limestone soil in dry, open areas bordered by red cedar. Reference: Endangered
