Third world aid / infrastructure development project: a new bridge enables much improved transport links. Click for details

A bridge built in military style by British army engineers as part of an aid development programme significantly improved transport during wet weather on the island of Tanna in the south Pacific Republic of Vanuatu. Before this bridge was build, the main north-south road, between the airport and the main town, was flooded after heavy rain.
