A magnificent flask from the Balkan region, circa 1500 A flat flask richly decorated in relief, of leaded pewter alloy with greyish age patina. Circular body made of three riveted parts, decorated on both sides with a cast-in platelet depicting a lion. One medallion has broken out but is enclosed. The feet each decorated with a relief depiction of a lion fighting a snake. Slender neck with a flared rim. a loop on the side to fasten the missing hinged lid.
