reservist Private Simon Barnet 17 Port and Maritime Group pictured doing last minute training exercises for the benefit of themselves and media at Nesscliff Training Area in Shropshire, prior to their deployment to Cyprus as part of the UN Cyprus Tour . They are now deemed ready for their UN peacekeeping tour to the Green Line in Nicosia Cyprus where they will spend 6 months keeping the peace between the opposing Greek Cypriot and Turkish Forces . The force is 250 strong of which 120 are reservists drawn from the 4th Battalion The Mercian Regiment.
