Interno is Cartagena’s new prison restaurant, a space of reconciliation between the prison population and the civilian population, one of the enterprises from the Fundación Interno Foundation, who works with current and former prisoners. The restaurant is located inside the San Diego women’s prison. Inmates wearing pink turbans cook and serve the food to the visitors. The ambience is set within a renovated hall which still has bars over the door. Visitors can enjoy the Colombian dishes surrounded by the new pink walls, including floral murals and colorful, cushions.
