A Southern German late Gothic sallet, Innsbruck(?), circa 1490 The skull forged in one piece with a medial ridge splitting into a double comb over the brow. Three curved flutes on both sides at the back of the head, the pointed tail fluted twice. Surrounding lining rivets. The lower edge turned outward. A reinforcing plate for the brow, made in two pieces, each formed with six ridges. A forked retaining bar screwed on the crown of the skull, and a retaining screw on each side of the eye slit for attachment. On the right side of the nape of the neck a copper sol,
