Ammonite fossil

Ammonite (Perisphinctes sp.) fossil. Perisphinctes lived worldwide, in warm and shallow marine waters, such as the continental shelf and interior shelf seas further landwards. The shells are of a rather conventional flat spiral makeup with the average diameter around 8 cm, but larger diameters, up to 40 cm, are not uncommon and make this fossil an attractive object for collectors.
