Poison Dart Frog


This amphibeans are diurnal and have brightly-colored skin that acts as warning to animals which may want to eat them. Some dart frogs are deadly to the touch. They have been often called "dart frogs" due to the Amerindians' indigenous use of their toxic secretions to poison the tips of blowdarts. However, of over 175 species, only four have been documented as being used for this purpose. Habitat: Tropical forests of South America. Native to Central and South America.
