Scars resulting from breast reconstruction surgery, following the removal of faulty PIP implants
Scars resulting from the surgery required to remove faulty PIP, (Poly Implant Prothese), breast implants and the subsequent reconstructive surgery. The faulty implants were found to be filled with silicone gel made for mattresses and lacked a protective coating designed to stop the implant from splitting and prevent any gel that leaks from spreading through the body.
