Tsiolkovsky space travel machine designs. Handwritten notes and sketches for a space travel machine by the Russian pioneer of aviation and aerospace design, Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky (1857-1935). Tsiolkovsky was one of the first to use open-section wind tunnels, and laid many of the foundations of modern aerodynamics. He is best known for his visionary work on the problems of space travel and he is considered one of the founding figures of rocketry and astronautics. Photographed at the Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, Kaluga, Russia.
