The buffalo follow Shukor around pining for attention. TERENGGANU, MALAYSIA: MEET THE young BUFFALO whisperer who shares a special bond with these magnificent creatures. In one image, a young boy lay atop a water buffalo whilst resting his head on its five-foot wide horns. In another, the boy stood on the back of one of the 1,500-pound beasts as he pointed into the distance. Photographer, Yusuf Bin Madi (29) from Malaysia, was in Terengganu, Malaysia, when he captured these incredible images featuring a young boy called Shukor and his family?s herd of water buffalo. Yusuf spent just five hours with Shukor during which he learnt about the rare bond the boy had formed with these powerful animals. Water buffalo have provided domestic assistance for over 5,000 years. Thanks to their immense strength, they can easily plough and transport crops and other agricultural goods. Although considered to be the least dangerous species of buffalo, water buffalos can still run at speeds of 30 miles-per-hour and should be approached with caution.
