From the Sandycove Atlas, believed to have been used by James Joyce in the 'Ulysses Summer' of 1904. Deliberate marks believed made by James Joyce include underlining of Tarentum and nine other locations significant in the Pyrrhic Wars of 280 to 275BC. Joyce recreated a lesson on the Pyrrhic Wars in the second episode of Ulysses. Base document is a copy of Gall & Inglis' Imperial Globe Atlas of Modern and Ancient Geography, London/Edinburgh, 1903.
