A of German halberds, and another, very similar, circa 1530 - 50 The heads formed of a central robust spike of stiff-diamond section struck three times with the maker's mark at its base on one side, a bordered shield filled with a device, perhaps a flower, axe-blade with oblique straight cutting-edge, small beak-shaped rear flukes with indented edge above and below, and open socket extending to a pair of straps each retained by five nails: each on 19th century faceted wooden haft.
