Kiss of Judas. Marble statue beside the Scala Sancta in the Lateran Palace in Rome, Italy. According to the Christian tradition, Scala Sancta is the steps that led up to the praetorium of Pontius Pilate in Jerusalem, which Jesus Christ stood on during his Passion on his way to trial. The steps were bring to Rome by St Helena in 326 and than installed in the Lateran Palace.
