Various artists performance at the Ash Grove in Los Angeles featured Barbara Dane, Lynn Gold, Rolf Cahn, Carl Granich and Carl Sandbag, Bud & Travis. Released in March 1959, World Pacific WP 1254 orange scribble cover was born. The design was done by Armand Acosta who did lots of sleeves for World Pacific from 1958 to 1960. He went on to become an award-winning film director, screenwriter, cinematographer and producer. It would not have been out of place on a Blue Note cover. World Pacific had begun life in 1952 as Pacific Jazz, releasing jazz, pop and spoken word recordings.
