A Roman fibula of Leda and the Swan, 2nd - 3rd century A disc fibula of copper alloy featuring a portrayal of Leda and the Swan. Surface incised with fine details (the swan's plumage, Leda's hair) and tin-plated at front and back. Pin hinge completely broken off, catch broken at the point. Minimal corrosions and oxide adhesions. Length cm. Very rare portrayal of a mythological scene.
