Eidfjord, Norway - 31 May 2016 Like all such geological features, Eifjord is a long, narrow inlet with steep sides or cliffs, created by glacial erosion during recent Ice Ages. And here are two interesting facts: 1) Norway's coastline is estimated at 29,000 km with fjords, but only 2500 km when fjords are excluded! 2) Possibly because of the narrowness of many fjords, combined with the water depths, ship wakes seem unusually complex and prominent - as seen here.
