Stone spearhead from Australia. It is around six centimetres long and has been carefully crafted to have sharp edges and a sharp point. The making of stone tools and weapons dates back to around 2-5 million years ago. The replacement of stone tools by metal ones began about 6000-2500 years ago with the Bronze Age, which followed the Stone Age. Some cultures never developed metal-working technology, and remained in the Stone Age until encountering other cultures.
