Innovation : Coconut fibre based composite domestic fabrics with natural fibres jute, cotton, coconut fibre hither to not used

Coconut fibre is a ‘fruit fibre’ extracted from coconut fruit harvested from coconut palm. Fibre is extracted from the HUSK (mesoderm) of coconut fruit. Coconut fibre is extracted by two processes retting to produce white fibre and direct extraction from green and dry husk mechanically to produce lower quality brown fibre. Composite fabrics are made from white, graded fibre. The blended composite yarn is plied on any type of twisting machine, but flyer type twisting machine is better for preventing the shedding of fibre due to friction. Coconut fibre yarn can be used as warp in weaving. Jute – coconut fibre composite yarn, either single or ply,. Can be used as weft for production of jute – coconut fibre composite fabric. Fabrics can be used as home textile like floor covering, table cover, wall covering, big shopper, carry bag
