Whitefriars Gate in Kings Lynn Norfolk England. Gateway of the Carmelite Friary, which from before 1260 until 1538 occupied a precinct to the south-east. Here lived Friar Aleyn, writer of 'The Book of Margery Kempe', the earlier biography in the English language. It kind of stands on its own now, and is a pleasant reminder of the town's historic defensive past.
